Maurice Clemons never should have been let out of Jail!

Dear Mayor, I am writing this letter on behalf of the Lakewood police officer shooting incident. I am asking for you to sequester Judge John McCarthy and Thomas Felnagle, review their past cases, see that they personally apologize to the families of the police officers and publicly state what there reasons for setting such a low bail amount after knowing Maurice Clemmons countless criminal history. John McCarthy and Thomas Felnagle’s poor judgment call directly resulted in the death of four of Seattle’s Police officers. Nothing they can do can bring back the husbands, the wife the sons, the daughter, the friends, parents, brothers and sister that were lost. They cannot restore the heartbroken and shattered families. Their sequestering and further review of past cases can prevent this tragedy from happening again and help other Judges to think twice about their bail amount. My motive in this request is to prevent other unnecessary deaths, crime and risks to society. Maurice Clemons had over 15 serious felonies during his lifetime. Why did it take the death of four police officers to put an end to his criminal activity? I am looking to you to insure that changes are made and that Judge McCarthy and Felnagle are brought to justice. Please reply to my letter and let me know if you will abide by my request. If my request is ignored I will assume that you see no fault in these judges actions and furthermore are letting down the families of those who died serving their community.

It is past time that judges be held accountable for these horrible miscarriages of justice.

Clearly the first 25 people in the local telephone directory probably could have rendered better judgment on this issue than these two public “servants”.....and they’ll be treated like royalty thru an excellent retirement...

Please give that bushwah a rest. This is NOT Huckabee’s fault. Huckabee allowed the parole board to consider releasing someone who’d already spent 11 years in state prison on a theft charge committed when he was a minor. Even then, he violated parole and went back to prison after his commutation. NINE LONG YEARS LATER, it was the Washington authorities who released him despite now having full information about his adult criminality.

To blame this on Huckabee, you either have to claim that he was at fault for not having a working crystal ball, or else you are making the argument (citing equality under the law) that all property crimes committed by minors should be punished by 108 years in prison with no hope of parole. If your own kid ever goes joy-riding in a “borrowed” car (i.e., “grand theft auto”), you’d better hope nobody holds him to that same ridiculous standard.

You're wrong about this on two fronts.

1. Huckabee commuted this thug's sentence knowing full well that by commuting his sentence to 49 years he would be eligible for almost immediate parole. If Huckabee hadn't commuted his sentence, those 4 police officers would still be alive.
2. Your comment about property crimes and 108 years prove you are not aware of the multiple crimes he committed, some with guns.
3. His 108 years were the result of accumulated sentences for multiple crimes and were given to him by multiple juries.

Huckabee knew all of this and on the word of a Baptist minister who told him this guy had reformed in Jail and found Jesus he released him basically.

And yet, when another man converted to Buddhism and reformed in Prison he made no move to cummute his sentence.

Huckabee was admonished, pleaded with, and warned by Prosecutors and victims to stop releasing felonious criminals; Huckabee thought he could read men's hearts.

Tragically, he was wrong.

And least two of his soft-headed releasees went on to rape and kill others.

Two too many.

Their blood is on the Huckster's hands.

This is why Huckabee will never be president. There is a good reason to keep ministers out of politics. Now if Maurice Clemons had converted into a Mormon—he would still be in jail.

“And least two of his soft-headed releasees went on to rape and kill others.”

And there will probably be others who repeat offend if it hasn’t happened already. Sometimes it takes a while for the bodies to be discovered.

Yeah, or if he had converted to Catholicism, judging by the comments of some of his supporters on this site.
