I personally have been unscathed. Overall Im probably more conservative in many ways than most people I know, but Im also quite pragmatic at times. (FYI McCain was NOT the smart, pragmatic choice but I digress...) In general, it seems like being "pragmatic" equates to being willing to give up on your principles "just a little". And then later, you give up just a little more.... until eventually you've lost all your freedom.
