Liberals and conservatives approach issues very differently. A liberal will take small amounts of information - form a conclusion and look for people and facts to support that conclusion. The most recent glaring example is Global Warming. Liberals glommed onto a few scientist and ideas and signed onto a poorly researched position then ONLY accepted facts that "fit" that position. It's classic for that side - global warming, population bomb, club of Rome, ozone hole, global freezing etc.

When liberals luck out in "jumping to conclusions" they by pass wasted time and money. But when they're wrong - and that's often - they waste billions of dollars - - and important time that could have been spent on real problems.

I've known liberals who didn't understand why conservatives were challenging global warming - in their minds it was "SETTLED" PERIOD. Why waste time on it?

Indeed.

Conservatives on the other hand are information gathers. They look into this, they look into that, they pick up this rock or examine that anomaly. And we let them. Because our critics and doubters are valuable to us. We don't want to shut them down or force them into a mental straight jacket.

So if you want my personal opinion on some of the stuff that's being looked at on the edges - things still in flux - I'll tell you. I believe global warming (caused by man) is a hoax. The science is bad. The people pushing it are benefiting from the fraud personally. It's the equivalent of tobacco "scientists" telling us smoking doesn't cause cancer... when the research is paid for by the tobacco company. It's a nightmare. The people who pushed this fraud while falsifying records should go to jail. The people who knew about the lies and benefited should go to jail too.

On Obama being born outside the United States. It's possible. I'm still looking at what the information gatherers are coming up with. RaceBannon isn't a hundred percent sure - but he's thinks it's a good possibility he spoke with Obama - and that Obama told him he was born in Mombasa. Race has NO REASON whatsoever to make this up - or to push it. He's credible. It's an interesting dot to add to the others. I haven't formed a strong position on this issue - but I'm definitely open to more information. .

On Obama being influenced by Communists when he was young. I think it's very possible. I lived in Hyde Park as a young person ( back in the time of Alinsky) and I had friends whose parents were members of the Communist Party. It was that kind of neighborhood. My gut tells me Obama has heard the marxist line - from the marxist viewpoint. It could mean he understands them and is forwarned to their idiocy - or it could mean that he's bought into the spiel. I don't know...

I also believe he and Bill Ayers were friends - and that it's possible Ayers did much of the writing for Dreams. Writing's a skill developed over years - it's a talent and a craft. If Ayers didn't write the book, some other ghost writer did - IMHO it's Ayers's influenced at minimum but I'm still open to new information...

Oh Obama being a Muslim - I doubt it. At best he's been close to people who are Muslim and understands their thinking and ways. Just as Jeb Bush often pronounces the name of Latino countries and cities with a mild "spanish accent" so Obama does with middle eastern countries and cities. It's disconcerting on some levels. He did it last night in his speech - many words including "Pakistan"... In Muslim cultures truth is shared with family members - only - obviously Obama was seen as "family" by his father's people - and that might give the illusion of him being Muslim, but I don't believe he is, and it would take massive proof to convince me otherwise.

Again, sickoflibs we encourage the information gatherers... If they come up with nothing, we're still better off for their effort. What's leaned from an experiment that fails is as important as what's learned from one that succeeds.

Like I said before, we also dont want a conservative Dan Rather memo moment. Nor is it helpful to have signs at protests that personally attack Obama. That is just ammunition for the democrats in characterizing us all as nuts(although at this point, this dem strategy is not helping them anymore either, we got a real dem meltdown here.)

I personally dont care where Obama was born short real clear proof he knew he was violating the law or constitution. And most birth-certificaters arguments is “Prove Obama was...” . He doesnt have to prove that stuff now, he is president. Dems tried the national guard stuff on Bush, and it backfired.

This is not true with a huge number of ‘conservatives’. I have many witnesses here how tons of times freepers have shut down a valid argument with ‘Those are democrat talking points’. It’s frustrating because as most of the country develops an valid (or partially valid) opinion, and many freepers are trained by talk radio to be exactly exactly like liberals, If it conflicts with a belief, it must be tuned out. This is how so many republicans thought we would win 2006+2008.
