Hey, how’d that guy with the guitar get all the way up there?

Hell no, we wont go. (Because the tuition’s too high now.)

(Watch the 3rd video to understand.)

The promise of the University of California, from the 1860s until the past decade or so, was that no Californian who could get it would pay tuition. There were some fees, books to be bought, and room and board to take care of, but it was essentially free.

Nothing is ever free my friend. The taxpayers are footing the bills then and now. How much more can that dwindling band afford to pay so things are "free" for the rest?

I love it when progressive professors get attacked for greed!

Seriously though, a consumption subsidy always shifts the demand curve to the right, driving up prices. This is also the problem in the health care sector, and people are too “educated” to understand it.

I just want to add this link and bit of info...

http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/news/article/22415

“The increased fees are expected to generate $505 million. Of that amount, $175 million would be set aside for financial aid.”

Do you understand what that means? That’s a straight out admission that over 30% of the increased fees will be used for wealth transfer. 30 cents of every dollar that a student uses for tuition from a student loan they will have to pay back, a mother or father has to work overtime for or retirement funds that are depleted will be going to fund someone that isn’t their child.

I have no words for this kind of insanity. The lack of common sense that is rampant these days is truly mind boggling. How did we get here? We paid attention to trends, predictions and fought the political fight as best we could for the last 20 years against the left.

How could we, as the general somewhat politically inactive population, been so blind to this train wreck? Every single day I’m left wondering how did all my political awareness underestimate the speed at which disaster is befalling us as a nation and people?

The only ones who will pay the full increased tuition are the sons and daughters of the “White privileged oppressor” class people. Sons and daughters of the “oppressed” will pay less or nothing.

In other words, you hold a fistful of degrees from a system which perpetrated fraud and fundamentally lied to you and everyone else for over a century. Congratulations. I'd sure be proud of that.

All Universities should be private. Get Government out of higher education business.
