meanwhile the “leaders” of both parties continue to try to minimulize the Cuda.
And they do so at their own peril.
I am not a republican anymore, (no to dem lite) I am a conservative.

Joe, I am the same way. When people call me a Republican I quietly tell them, "I left the Republican party a few years ago because they have no cojones. I am now an Independent Conservative."

As we Nam Vets are wont to say to our fellow vets, "Welcome Home, Bros!"

In my first Presidential election, I voted for LBJ, but I had an excuse. I was in the USAF, politically naive and my who family had always voted Demo-Rat.

Then after a few years I somewhat smartened up and switched parties.

However, after Jerry Ford refused to abide by his sworn duty to uphold the Constitution (and abide by the Paris Peace Talk Accords) and acquiesced meekly to Congress cutting off all funding to S. Vietnam, I quit being a Republican and have been a Conservative Independent since.

During the Reagan years I still did not proclaim myself a Republican cuz there were still too many RINO's even then and don't think I ever will again.
