The original mini-series was on in the mid-80s, and re-run Monday on Syfy. I don’t remember the original, and didn’t see it Monday, but wish I had. It occurs to me that the original might have been aimed at Reagan supporters, and this is just a re-packaging of the show to fit today. Any fans out there that can clarify? Is it just science fiction or was there a political message in the original?

I dumped TV in 1997. that said, I own the whole Firefly series on DVD.

I really liked the original V and may purchase this one when it comes out. I borrowed a box of Battlestar Galactica dvds from a friend and, although it was interesting, I felt like I was being strung along so I would stay ‘till the next “commercial break”. Things just progressed way to slow.
