Astonishing though it may be, there are Americans who actually believe that Barack Obama’s vist to Dover was an authentic expression of concern for our troops and empathy for their loved ones.

Of all the Obama fabrications, this has to be one of the more preposterous.

The Narcissist in Chief was not showing empathy because he doesn’t have any.

.
What’s so astonishing about it? There are still plenty of Americans who would vote for him for the second time.

If the White House propaganda machine wants us to take this sort of PR stunt seriously, they must lose the press and the cameras next time.

Exactly.

cnn.com — Barack Obama is apologizing for saying the lives of the more than 3,000 U.S. troops killed in the Iraq war were “wasted.” During his first campaign trip this weekend, he told a crowd in Iowa: “We now have spent $400 billion and have seen over 3,000 lives of the bravest young Americans wasted.”

I saw that on tv with fellow veterans. The comments are unprintable.

Anyone who thinks that compassion is showing up in the evening to request a photo with grieving families during probably one of the worst moments of their lives (seeing the flag-drapped caskets of their son or daughter coming off a plane) is delusional. W (despite his flaws) took the time to invite families to the White House and sent personally written letters to grieving families and never asked for photos. The fact that Barry had to ask ever family for a photo before one would let him tells you every thing you need to know about this.

I heard Liz Cheney on the radio saying Bush went to a lot of these things, but you never heard about it, no cameras, no press. Why? It’s obvious that he did it out of genuine respect, not for a photo op.

I bet Obama wouldn’t have gone had none of the families given permission for the photos.

The Baraqqi coalition makes up a solid 40% of the US adult population.
That many folks will support him no matter what.

That reminds me of something Stevie Nicks said on a TV show recently. She said she visits Walter Reed Hospital very often to talk to the soldiers and she gives them each an ipod loaded up with music.

She said she’d been there so many times she couldn’t count and didn’t ever make a big deal out of it. she said she loved the men and loved seeing how much happiness they got just to have a visitor.

She seemed to be very sincerely attached to that place and the soldiers there. And it seemed like she only mentioned it in the first place to bring attention to what the soldiers have done for our country, to honor them and the sacrifices they made.

What is more disgusting is that they specifically chose Dover from the fact that Bush didn’t go there and then had his pundits repeat it as if Bush never did anything for the troops. Sick.

You’re right. Bush & Cheney visited the troops & their families often but didn’t use them as photo op fodder.
