DeDe might have had some measure of support within her particular county, but she obviously did not have broad support across the rest of the counties that comprise the 23rd district.

There's no way that a neophyte, third party carpetbagger, like Hoffman, should have been able to come out of nowhere and literally force a veteran Republican pol ( in a Republican district ,) like Scozzafava, out the race within a two three week period.

Again, DeDe never had the necessary grassroots support in the first place.
