Yes, as some of us have already noted, she did NOT endorse Hoffman. She told her followers that she was “releasing” them to vote for whoever they liked.

But this article raises a second problem, which I don’t think any of us have noticed.

She did not withdraw from the race, she suspended her campaign.

What does that mean? Either way, her name would remain on the ballot on the Republican line, because there isn’t time to remove it.

But if she withdrew, then Hoffman’s helpers could stand outside the polling places at the legal distance and tell voters that Dede had withdrawn and that the Republican party was now supporting Hoffman.

Can they do that if she is still technically in the race? Probably not. So she is still a spoiler.

She is behaving like the scuzz she is, all the way to the end. Apt conduct from a selfish baby killer.

Maybe there is some technicality involving campaign financing that makes it more attractive to "suspend" a campaign instead of pulling out altogether.

But in this case it could be resentment on her part that rank-and-file Republicans and out-of-state conservatives have put Hoffman ahead of her, the choice of the local party poohbahs.

I could be wrong, but I assumed she suspended to keep her war chest; since she released her endorsements to go elsewhere. I’ve since read she doesn’t have much of a war chest to keep. It does indeed appear that she’s being vindictive if she merely suspended to remain on the ballot to pull votes from Hoffman. If this is the case, I’d think the RNC would be done with her (We can hope.)
