The following is an e-mail I recently sent out:

From info that I can garner, there are now about 5,000 swine flu deaths worldwide. The world population is approx 7 billion people. .000000714%. Hardly an alarming statistic.

In the US, there are prox 1,000 swine flu deaths among a population of over 300 million people. .000003333%. Another ho-hum percentage. Deaths from drowning and many other causes far surpass this small percentage.

I guess I don’t understand why they are calling this an epidemic/pandemic and why it’s been declared a national and world emergency.

The percentages above just don’t seem to support all lthe dire warnings. In researching this issue, I found the following:

Former US State Department insider Fred Burks asks “How much of the swine flu scare is real and how much is fear mongering? Could it be that certain members of the power elite profit handsomely when fear is spread around the globe through exaggerated alerts such as the avian flu and swine flu scares? Burks mentions the previous swine flu outbreak in the US in 1976 when only one person actually died, yet fear-mongering by the government led to massive vaccinations, which in turn caused at least 30 deaths as a direct result of contaminated vaccines.
More than half a dozen pharmaceutical companies, including Gilead Sciences Inc., Roche, GlaxoSmithKline and other companies with a stake in flu treatments and detection, saw a rise in their shares in a matter of days, and will likely see revenue boosts if the swine flu outbreak continues to spread.
The fear generated by the mainstream media and government over recent flu outbreaks has made some individuals very wealthy. Former US Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld alone added $5 million to his investment portfolio thanks to massive sales of Tamiflu during the avian flu “pandemic,” which never materialised. Tamiflu was shown numerous times to be ineffective against avian flu, however it’s also being recommended for swine flu.
The Financial Times on May 12 reported that governments around the world have previously stockpiled 220 million doses of Tamiflu in preparation for a “pandemic” that has yet to appear. The cost of this preparation is $7 billion dollars.
Bestselling author and health activist Dr. Joseph Mercola makes the following point: “It is important to note that nearly all suspected new [swine flu] cases have been reported as mild. Preliminary scientific evidence is also pointing out that this virus is NOT as potent as initially thought… Personally, I am highly skeptical. It simply doesn’t add up to a real pandemic.”
Mercola suspects a hidden agenda: “[The swine flu] has a noticeable subplot – preparing you for draconian measures to combat a future pandemic as well as forcing you to accept the idea of mandatory vaccinations.”
At the time of this article’s publication, extra powers granted by the NSW government in Australia can be applied to force into quarantine anyone who has been in contact with a suspected swine flu “case.” Will the next step be mandatory vaccinations?

Follow the money!

My husband has H1N1 right now and he’s doing ok. My two year old had it first and it was really mild for him.

But, I’m pregnant, and a young pregnant woman just died in my city - she had no other health issues. I debated about getting the vaccine. I would get it now if I could because the risk of dying or miscarriage from the flu is worse than the risk of a vaccine reaction. It doesn’t matter anyway because it’s never been available in my area. I am now stuck taking Tamiflu as prevention, which I am not happy about, but considering the number of young, healthy pregnant women who have died from H1N1, the risks of Tamiflu are also worth it. My OB/GYN was insistent that the H1N1 vaccine is manufactured the same way that all flu shots are manufactured, and that there is risk with the vaccine but no more than a regular flu shot.

I was exposed to H1N1 for a week before we realized that’s what it was, because it was so mild in my son, and now even with my husband being sick, I still haven’t even started to feel sick at all. News articles say if you’re exposed to this you’ll get it, but I didn’t show any signs of getting it before I had to start taking Tamiflu.

I would take my chances without the vaccine, IF I weren’t pregnant or in another high risk category.
