She should have said: “Dude (bro’), it’s a free country, Don’t Try to Tread on ME!”

So if your mother gets canned are you going to support her?
To: Mr. Lucky
No My mother watches my Blog and I would like her to read some encouraging comments.
To: Artemis Webb
Of Course I will support her. I will get the attorney and sue the hell out of the Red Cross
To: myfreepress
As helpful as the Red Cross tries to be, I’ve always thought it “interesting” that the prez of the Red Cross is paid around $450,000 per annum....kinda high for a “non-profit” wouldn’t you say?

In fall 1775, the United States Navy was established to intercept incoming British ships carrying war supplies to the British troops in the colonies. To aid in this, the Second Continental Congress authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines to accompany the Navy on their first mission. The first Marines that enlisted were from Philadelphia and they carried drums painted yellow, depicting a coiled rattlesnake with thirteen rattles, and the motto "Don't Tread On Me." This is the first recorded mention of the future Gadsden flag's symbolism. At the Congress, Continental Colonel Christopher Gadsden was representing his home state of South Carolina. He was one of three members of the Marine Committee who were outfitting the first naval mission. It is unclear whether Gadsden took his inspiration from the Marines' drums, or if he inspired them himself. Before the departure of that first mission, the newly appointed commander-in-chief of the Navy, Commodore Esek Hopkins, received the yellow rattlesnake flag described above from Gadsden to serve as his distinctive personal standard. Gadsden also presented a copy of this flag to his state legislature in Charleston and was recorded in the South Carolina congressional journals: Col. Gadsden presented to the Congress an elegant standard, such as is to be used by the commander in chief of the American navy; being a yellow field, with a lively representation of a rattle-snake in the middle, in the attitude of going to strike, and these words underneath, "Don't Tread on Me!"
Wow...how racist that Gadsden Flag is!!
Morons with no concept of History....Have your mother give them an outline of the history of the flag and it's significance and make them show her how it is racist.

...and the basis of your suit would be?
To: Artemis Webb
I hope things work out for your mom. It’s too bad that people have to see racisim in something totally meaning freedom.
I’ve seen some comments that perhaps you have an agenda for posting here. I doubt it but, there has been people in the past on the left who come here with an agenda attempting to promote the stereotype of conservatives displayed in the media. I believe here you will find intelligent, thinking people committed to perserving the freedoms our founding fathers expounded upon in the Constitution. We’re also kind of a fun bunch! So Welcome!

I showed her the Wiki yesterday, but she is fearful for her job, and I am not sure I want to push it since I would be responsible if she lost her job :(
To: myfreepress
Tell her to get herself a good attorney. Some will even do the case with no money up front. Carefully document everything (if this story really happened) and then sue them.

Infringing on her first amendment rights
To: khnyny
That is what I was thinking, but my mom needs encouragement, hence the reason I mention to leave a comment or two so she will read them.

You either stand up for your right to free speech and for liberty or you don't...
It's come to that now...don't you see that?
To: myfreepress
“Since she is a single women and doesn’t make much money, she fears standing up for her Freedom of Speech. What has this Country come to?”
Sorry, but the First Amendment does not cover your mother’s freedom of speech at her place of work.
