Why are you sitting in front of a computer goofing off? Why aren't you working? You know the democrat base wants it's free stuff.
Turn off your darn computer and get back to work, you useless slacker. The politicians need your money. Their base is getting hungry.

What a load of dung.

the Cell Phone service providers are already required by law to provide 911 service FREE to any working cell phone.

There are plenty of charity organizations that collect and distribute old cell phones to the needy just for this purpose.

So what does a Life Line service need to provide free minutes for? I guess it is more than a life line.

Hoax isn’t the right word, it is s a marketing ploy. The Lifeline/Linkup programs to help pay for phones for low income households has been around since the mid 90s. This company is just using it, along with the news, as a marketing tool to get customers to buy their phones.

This program is a joke. We had a homeless person we were helping in our church and we applied for him to get this phone. Twice they screwed up the delivery even though we gave them a home address and when we called them they just told us that the computer system could not process the information right....but we felt that they probably were still collecting funds for all that applied even if phones were not distributed....wonder if they are run by ACORN?

wonder if they are run by ACORN?

Or one of their many affiliates?

The object of the left is to overwhelm the system and destroy it. That way, The Marxist/Communist can come in with their way of correcting it.
What's going to happen when the government can no longer offer all these freebies people have become dependent on? They're not going to want to give them up. They're going to blame it on some one else, like big business, big oil, big medicine, big insurance companies, the evil rich, wall street, bankers, etc., ..........like they're doing right now. And, as planned, the Marxist/Communist are doing what they've always wanted to do. They're "fixing it" their way!

That is how a revolution of the classes is started.

That's what they call it - "The Socialist Revolution." It started decades ago,.

Goals 2000 (i.e., Outcome Based Education) was designed to acclimate the students into a socialist society - revolution first, academics later (which is why the students can't read). By the year 2000, every graduating student would have gone through the entire socialist program.
That's why the left was furious with Bush's Education Reform Package. The schools had to go back to teaching academics, and the Goals 2000 program is running behind schedule (yet succeeding). Parents, Bush, religion, and the new alternative media are getting in the way.

Trac phone= Carlos Slim, Mexico based telecommunications. Trac phone has contracts to use every one else's cell towers. They own very little of their own infrastructure, at least in the U.S.

Not run by by Acorn, but it's a safe bet that Acorn is cheering them on. I wonder how long it would take to convince otherwise well meaning (hoping to help the poor) Acorn volunteer folk that Carlos Slim is once again ripping off the U.S? The computer foul ups? deliberate. Designed that way from the top.

Trac has a business model. They want to receive money, not pay it out. Their basic phone will work (under their basic plans) BUT Carlos gets a buck a day, whether one uses the phone, or not. Try some other option, like Net10 (which is Trac phone, only marketed different) and one will run into "computer problems" too. They'll sell you a phone, promise much, take your money, but when it comes time to re-up the minutes, after one makes payment, then---you guessed it, computer problems. What they want is to drive you back to their basic plans, so Carlos gets his dollar a day.

Verizon gets more than that, whether one uses the phone or not also, one should add. But then they actually have to pay for building and maintaining their own equipment. As do the other telecoms.

What in the world are we doing, having a CELL PHONE lifeline service, operated by a Mexican Telecom, that either, cannot fix their own in-house computer [ahem] problems, or will not by design?

Even without such problems, what are we doing contracting with this Mexican, when the monies to run the program come from the U.S., and should stay in the U.S.?
