McCain's aides messed up her debut and campaign. First, the book says that the McCain press office had no biographical information ready when Palin was picked. Not only had the campaign not done its homework to defend Palin, but it wasn't prepared for the media backlash. In their defense, aides note that had the campaign flooded the state with officials snooping for info on their veep pick, McCain's surprise would have been ruined. Continetti does cite some press tactics that worked, such as the anti-Obama "Celebrity" ad.
Liberal-leaning feminists, especially comic Tina Fey, the 30 Rock star who portrayed Palin on Saturday Night Live, were jealous of Palin. "Palin's sudden global fame rankled those feminists whose own path to glory had been difficult. To them, Palin was less a female success story than she was the beneficiary of male chauvinism," writes Continetti. He holds out Fey and her TV character for special criticism. "It was telling that Fey should be the actress who impersonated Palin. The two women may look like each other, but they could not be more dissimilar
Of course the feminists are jealous. She is a woman while they are just feminists.
Tina Fey can’t hold a candle to Palin in looks or any other aspect of her life. Fey is a nothing, even less than nothing. The only way she can ever redeem herself is to apologize to the entire country, and to Palin personally, for her actions during the last campaign, and afterwards as well.
Right now, the entire “feminist” movement, and their democrat allies are sweating bullets. They know that Going Rogue has the potential of being a real game changer. Two, three, four million, who knows how many women will buy it, read it, lend it to a friend, relative, co-worker, or check it out of their local library. What the dems fear most is losing a big part of “their” constituency, primarily young women. That is the biggest reason for the stepped up attacks on Gov. Palin over the last month. The dems are simply trying to supress book sales, but their stupid methods, mocking, ridiculing, and now even releasing a book made to imitate Going Rogue may very well backfire, and make even larger numbers of women want to read Going Rogue, just to see what all the fuss is about.
