Hollywood hearts Obama. Obama hearts government-directed national service. That is why you wont be able to change the TV channel all week without getting lectured about the need to get off the couch and Do Something. (After your favorite shows are over, of course.) Creeped out? You should be.
The entertainment industry, inspired by Obamas $6 billion expansion of government volunteerism spending, is coordinating plot lines and ads to push public service. The message will be nearly ubiquitous, reports the Los Angeles Times, starting in the morning with programs such as Today and The View, and then echoed on soap operas, prime-time series and late-night shows. First lady Michelle Obama, a relentless AmeriCorps promoter who publicly extolled the Tinseltown initiative last month, will cap off the week with an appearance on The Jay Leno Show on Friday.

Propaganda and agitprop. The networks will come to rue the day they went along with this, about the same time he turns on them.
Fox News was stupidly touting this one morning a week or so ago. Fox & Friends? I forget the specifics.
They even pushed it on “Numb3ers” last week —Big Brothers, Big Sisters. *rolling eyes* Sure wasn’t very subtle and I find that I’ve no desire to watch ANY TV, unless it’s a sewing program.

To a doer visiting nursing homes every week to sing old time gospel songs, or to collect donated baked goods and produce twice a week for the food bank is a natural response from a grateful heart.
I serve because I am so grateful for all the LORD has done for me.
Barack Obama's request for a day of community service is self-righteous and self-serving.

We never watch any of that crap mentioned anyway. We use our remote which puts US in charge of turning off undesired and silly programs or ads such as you mentioned. We are not impressed by any hollywood idiot and we certainly are not impressed by the First Lady telling us to get up and help. We did that many years and long before she ever came on the scene. We do what we do and not what someone no matter who they are tell us. We are individuals...and not part of the MASSES and everyone else should be the same as well.
