Standard hug-a-thug nonsense. If these groups want to do something worthwhile, try to figure out ways to divert kids away from criminal activity BEFORE they go in the joint.

Crims were anti-social animals before they went in, they are super predators when they come out, in olympian athlete shape, and even more well versed in the judicial system. If they weren’t in a gang before they went in, they will be before they are done. The Nation of Islam has always been in prison and growing even more influential. They certainly have even more fodder than ever.

Too many well meaning bleeding hearts have tried to change them with no success. They try to get animals who would stab someone without a thought to control their base desires and become a productive member of society and they almost always fail.

If one turns their back on society, they should have absolutely no expectation that society will welcome them back.

Your statement is mostly true. However, at the same time, we have allowed it to be abused very badly. i.e. 25 years for shoplifting, having a fist fight with your neighbor,etc.

Abusing it, devalues it, just like abusing the race does.

I'm leaning more,and more, towards ClearCaseGuy's "iron fist" proposal. ;)

Almost forgot one of my favorite rants. Prison Wardens. They are largely responsible for diluting prison sentences, as they feel that is the only behavioral tool they have at their disposal, and that's due to our "warm & fuzzy, soft & huggy, kissy feely, left wing dominated, Judicial system overall.
