I agree. The Texas Republic plus your Kentucky, Tennessee and South Carolina would likely be the southern grouping.

I don’t think the southern grouping would be “part of Mexico or under Mexican influence” though. It just aint gonna happen.

I live in Houston, and can attest that we are already "under Mexican influence”!
