Everything I have heard about Feinberg is that the overwhelming majority of the 9/11 victim families thought that he did an amazingly good job, even the ones who were initially against him. I heard him speak about it a couple of times on C-SPAN and he came across as a very impressive individual tackling a very tough job. I doubt that Ashcroft authorized him to get rich off the victim’s families. He deserved to be paid well but I’ve never heard anything about him taking advantage of his position except in your list.
