Sorry for the excerpt. Still trying to come up with a better way to publish a photo-blog.
Anyways, the Colorado Springs "government" wants to tripple our property taxes; using extortion and threats of Police and Fire cuts - while City Owned rental properties are tax exempt.
Tell the Mayor and City Council, if they want our Firemen and Policemen, to COME AND TAKE THEM, if they can!
NO on 2c !!

"Someone who owns a house worth $200,000 in downtown Colorado Springs pays about $945 annually in property taxes. Just
$79 of the property tax bill goes to the city government, while $674 goes to Colorado Springs School District 11."And I'll bet the schools are top notch!/sarc

I had the pleasure of visiting Colorado Springs several times, the last being over thrity years ago. I remember the cog railway up Pike's Peak, and the Garden of the Gods, and the BROaDMOORE Hotel, a classy place to stay. I recall peaceful prosperous neighborhoods in the shadow of God's sand castles. It is a F*ing obscenity for this once fine American community to degenerate into liberal filth.

yep, the more they give to government... the more they have to take from others to pay for what they want and to replace the taxes from what they took.
Crazy people are in charge.

Sorry, Bill ... but Mr. Bruce's little experiment has left the city in a serious fiscal crisis. When you have a city that's grown as fast as ours has, and revenues are not keeping pace, you're bound to end up in real trouble.
You seem to be suggesting that the city should pay taxes on its own property.... whose money would they use to pay those taxes? Yours and mine. Rather silly, when you think about it.

the Colorado Springs "government" wants to tripple our property taxes The cities, counties and states have to pay for those lottery style tax funded government retirement pensions and those government benefits...
These local governments don't care if you're taxed into the gutter...They need your money for their lucrative retirement pensions.
Pay up!
