But what makes me laugh is remembering how this one local genius with a ‘67 Camaro, 327/365 was running 12 to 1 pop-up pistons and he wanted *maximum power* so he got the bright idea to add some aviation fuel from the local air park to that Sunoco 260 & Amoco Super-Premium mix. I remember when he pulled into the station one Friday evening, and he was all grins until he tried to shut the engine off and it just kept on running, and running, and running, it didn’t stop until those TRW forged aluminum pistons began to melt and started to weld themselves to the cylinders”
OUCH!!
I guess it never dawned on your friend that we had all thought of this.......we just weren’t stupid enough to try it ;-)
Fellas, Braveman's a two wheel guy through & through.
BUT what he won't mention is he also acquired a li'l cherry, too.
A "Chili Pepper Red" Saturn Sky RL turbo. 265HP tucked into in a little more than a large roller skate. Cheap to run. 5 speed so very "interactive". Lightweight enhances performance. Great interior with all the niceties we've become accustomed and visually beautiful, to boot.
Problem is?
His biker pals will ostracize him if he verbally announces the car's pretty slick.
Talk about a close minded crowd of bigots. LOL
"I remember those! Very fast, and cheap price wise. They put out a 750 you could buy for 995.00 and they were all blue."
If they're what I'm thinking of? I worked with a guy who owned one. Drove it to work during warm weather as much as possible.
Thing is, IIIR it was purple with yellow striping. What about it, Braveman? What'd they look like?
Now it did fly; but, never knew they were gas guzzlers, either. Go figure. {shhhhhh} I learned something. LOL
