Try Brooke Benton and Dinah Washington “You got What It Takes”;
Also, Aaron Neville and Linda Ronstadt, “All I need to Know”;
Also, Nino Tempo and April Stevens, “Deep Purple”;
Also, Ray Charles, Betty Carter — “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”;
Also, Johnny Cash and June Carter, “Jackson”;
Also, Steve Lawrence and Eyde Gorme — “This Could be the Start of Something Big”.

Just a few for further consideration, with no disparagement of Satchmo and Ella, at all!

I know a few of those but Louis deep voice is so unique and Ella had the most beautiful voice I’ve ever heard, and that combination is absolutely amazing.

That would a cool subject to debate, best male/female duos.

Those are all good!!!

Brook Benton mentioned there - I just tried to post a thread about the death of Shelby Singleton, and couldn’t get it to work. (Shelby worked with Brook during his time at Mercury Records.) I did a search and couldn’t find anything about it - I enjoyed the Rusty Wier article today, well written, informative - but was surprised to find nothing about Shelby. Granted, not a household name, but what would music have been without him?
