Remember Arafat, Al Gore and Jimmy Carter have won this prize while Reagan, Thatcher and Pope John Paul II did not. That should put its relative worth into perspective...

Adding a little more perspective, Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson were also awarded the Nobel Peace Price. Both were "progressives". Roosevelt's tag line was "walk softly and carry a big stick" and was famous for projecting American Naval power. Wilson involved the USA in a world war on foreign soil after running for reelection on a neutrality platform. In WWI 15 million people died and the aftermath saw the rise of the Soviet Union where 60 million people ultimately died as a result of the gulags. Wilson also has the legacy of the Federal Income Tax and the Federal Reserve.....
