I’m one of those who thinks this whole thing is a profound waste of energy and time. But for argument’s sake I’ll assume that everything the birthers allege is absolutely true. Now what? Where do we go from here? Nowhere.
The birthers will continue having their monthly meetings telling their little stories of incontrovertible evidence, just like the UFO people. And you spend the rest of your life in a fringe group, and maybe you get a documentary on the History Channel. And you go to your grave with a headstone that reads, “I was right, but nobody listened.”
And the world goes on. The world goes on because there’s about as much chance that Obama’s eligibility will ever be denied, as there is a possibility that Area 53 will get turned into an amusement park.
It’s not about who’s right and who’s wrong. It’s about being effective. Beating a lame horse will never get you where you want to go.
The birth (and chain of Citizenship) issue is a good club to keep in the “demonstrated lack of openness and transparency” bag of tricks.

Sorry but I don’t agree that those of us who support the Constitution of the United States is a fringe group. All we want is for Obama to produce his birth certificate to show his elgibility. Just up holding the Constitution. No more no less.

Sometimes, when those we elect, trust, and depend on, let us down, when possible, we elect out of office, when the offense is so egregious, we as a ntion stand up, with one voice, and shout OVER the MSM (Not possible until the advent of the Internet). Now the “Keepers of the news”, have lost their hold on the masses. Newspapers are failing, personalities are no longer listened to, pontificators of “truth”, and checked, cross checked, and before they air on the MSM, their stories are known to be lies.
Don’t underestimate the power of an informed people.
You presume too much, and with little information. Just for grins...do you know with absolute certainty that there are no UFS’s? and if so, what is your source of information.
Therefore, by what right do you condemn others who disagree with your belief system? Be careful not to be brainwashed by the very belief system that you condemn in others.
It is absolutely about what is Right. Our nation is built on a set of checks and balances, unlike any nation in the world, and it is by those principles in the constitution and the bill of rights, that we are the greatest nation in the world. When you deal with the devil, the devil always wins. Being effective, is all about a solid foundation, you cannot be effective until then.
A lame horse has its purpose and its future. Once facts are known, the foundation of our nation will be re-established, and we can move on as one people.

There is a tendency for populations to adjust to reasonably comfortable lives within a tolerable range of highs and lows through five or six decades. The danger herein is the fallacy that such a range of highs and lows is the range that will always exist.
About every eight decades, or about every 80 years, the limits of those comfort ranges get exceeded to extremes, such that many things those comfortable populations accepted as eternal facts of existence get thrown out the window, in the face of overwhelming changes in the extreme.
You might picture a pendulum swinging tolerably left and right within its framework for six decades of each eight decades or so. Then for two of those decades some unseen hand slams the pendulum against its frame, perhaps against both sides, with such force that the entire framework splinters and falls apart.
Every 80 years or so, the nature of civilization and the direction of nations get ground to rubble during economic and political crises, and have to be salvaged and rebuilt.
It is about who is right and who is wrong; it is also about being effective; mostly it is about being both right and effective.
