Capital Crunch: Obama confronts waning political capital
ABC BOLG The Note ^ | October 5, 2009 | Rick Klien

Posted on 10/05/2009 6:14:26 AM PDT by stockpirate

Think the White House may want to work on its vote-counting operation before the health care bill makes it to the Senate floor?

Think the CBO might be just as brutal as the IOC -- with scoring that counts just as much?

Think the public debate over Afghanistan strategy gets any easier as events shape perceptions?

Nobody will much remember a 24-hour trip to Denmark in early fall if, by the start of winter, there's a health care bill in place and a Afghanistan policy everyone in the administration can agree to.

Some truth, but bitter. the Denmark trip will still be remembered by die-hard politicos such as ourselves, but the public at large will be very bitter over whatever health care comes about. It'll be a government takeover and will leave far greater repercussions for the administration than Denmark ever could. And the same may well be said over Afghanistan's fate.

I don’t know where, exactly, Bambi was born.

But it is clear that he was born to fail.

I just hope he doesn’t kill too many of our best and brightest before we get rid of his sorry butt.

For zero to “confront his waning political capital”, he would have to have someone in his administration with a sense of reality. None of the bobbleheads in the WH has that - they’re all as clueless as he is.

With deficits sky high, let’s throw another trillion in the WDC toilet for health care. Exactly how does government rationed health care improve the lives of Americans again?

Oba-mao lost his credibility, the cult of personality died at Compenhagen.

They are also talking about more stimulus money to boot.

“Hopefully the BC issue and all of the corrution around him will bring him and the democrats down, soon.”

You know, there has been nothing that Zer0 has done that cannot, albeit with some difficulty, be undone by future conservative congresses and POTUSes.

Waht we must be on guard is the things that cannot be undone, such as

1. Making DC and Puerto Rico into states, two liberal-voting locks
2. Making 20 million illegals into US citizens beholden to the Dems for votes
3. a nuclear detonation on a US city

We need to concentrate on the really, really big picture, by neutering Zer0 and Nancy now so this kind of stuff does not happen, as it is irreversible.

We must also stop the health care scam, cap (growth) and trade (jobs) bill.

From the ABC Blog quote of WAPOST columnist David Broder:
"His main leverage point is the realization among nearly all Democrats that nothing would be as costly to them, in their individual 2010 races, as the failure of this Congress, with its heavy Democratic majorities, to pass a substantive health-reform bill."
I find it astonishing that Broder really believes this. Health reform is dying because the majority of Americans hate and fear it and the onerous obstructions to liberty it will create. Libs said the same thing about the HillaryCare failure in the aftermath of November, 1994. They really cannot get it!

What you and most fail to understand is this very simple FACT, they do in fact get it, but they want to pass their facist agenda no matter what. It is after all what tyrants do.

Excessive debt and the poor economy are blind-siding these fools.

Most of the Obamacare crap sandwich won't kick in till 2013 when the narcisist in chief is into his second term. Even he knows it's going to be a train wreck.

The ones who will suffer are these blue dogs. Think about it, they're in a no win situation. If it doesn't pass they get blamed by the left. If it does pass and it's a disaster the whole dem party gets blamed but the Franks, Rengals and Pelosis stay in because their constituants are all brain dead. The blue dogs get tossed because their more conservative constituants take out their frustration on them.

My guess is this stupidity, from March 2009, isn't enough:

So how is that recession matching up to the past? Looks like we will need another 2 years before any improvement in the job market.

Maybe you would like to do another cash for clunkers? How dumb is Obama, pretty damn dumb. He thinks America is nothing but a bunch of Kenyan morons.

We are about to find out how stupid Americans really are.

I think Zero's bobbleheads are trying to figure out how to enact a far-left agenda in a right-of-center country. He's sent his commie "czars" out to the front lines, only to get picked off one by one as their agendas are exposed. Bad news for the more moderate dems (which is a majority of dems considering how far left the Kenyan is) who get the radical label since they're standing under the same flag.

It's a real conundrum for the lefties. If America really wanted Euroweenie socialism they would have voted for a socialist, but they didn't--they voted for cutie pie rock star, and if the press had done their jobs we would have found out that the good rev. Wright and Bill Ayers weren't anomolies, but the rule. I really think the Obama campaign team said, "Holy S**t--we really won--now what are we going to do?!". If this works out we could see the dem party take a back seat in politics for years to come.

I agree any number of Democrats will suffer because of their health care debacle. But so will Obama, and far more than Pelosi, Reid, and those others in ‘safe’ districts. Obama was elected on “Hope” as well as “Change”. There’s no “Hope” built in to this piece of crap legislation.
