Thus they can cling to their childish notions of "The only good Govt is no Govt" without ever having to live by the systems they postulate.

I'm no political scientist, but isn't this anarchism and not libertarianism? I think most libertarians concede that there is a place for some government.

yes, you are correct. He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Happens a lot when libertarianism is brought up on FR.

They support a government that follows the Constitution and works to protect people’s rights. An yes, there are plenty of idiots in the Libertarian camp but the Repubs have more than their fair share too.

The country is moving in the Libertarian direction. Overall they want less government, not more.
