TYLER The No. 1 Blinn Buccaneers notched their fifth win with a 60-31 defeat of Tyler Junior College. The Bucs had been down by two touchdowns twice in the first half, but starting the third quarter, scored on fourth and goal from the two to take their first lead and turn the tide.
The Apaches scored on their first four possessions starting with a 49-yard pass play from Vincent McNeil to Jabroski Smiley. After quarterback Cameron Newton fumbled in TJC territory on Blinns first possession, the Apaches capitalized with McNeil tossing 24 yards to Jamaal Johnson to go up 14-0.
