As much as I agree with many of the things Ron Paul says someone convince me that his new found popularity will not become a detriment to our chances of replacing the scourge in our House and Senate.

Well, think about it. Why do people hate Republicans and why did they got tossed from office over the last two cycles like water from a sinking rowboat? It was their big government foreign and domestic policy, deficit spending, and hypocrisy. So since the neoconservative and liberal wing (but I repeat myself) failed miserably, and since Obama’s socialist policies are becoming equally as destructive and hated, logically the answer is to go in the opposite direction. Now, Ron Paul isn’t the answer. Neither is Bachmann. But what they do is shift the debate and drag the party and base back to the principals they once had. Indeed, what the protests and so on have shown is that Americans want smaller government in their own lives as well as abroad, less spending so the future generations (IE their kids and grandkids) aren’t screwed, and to put the brakes on the growing police state. Some of us remember when cops were the good guys, and not simply the guys in black riot suits and automatic weapons who barge into the wrong houses, kill pets, or taze people at the first sign of dissent. America will be America again, but by returning to it’s roots.

Ron Paul supporters kicked off the Tea Party movement back in 2007 by setting a good example for others to emulate.

Our GOP superweapons, Palin and Bachmann, sound more like the good doctor every day, discussing the Federal Reserve, fiscal/monetary policy, and out of control spending/deficits.
