I used to laugh when the lefties said that Bush was going to do that.

That was the right reaction.

I’m not laughing now.

You should be, because I think Obama is about as likely to do something drastic. And if he tried, a large part of the US would just ignore him. It would be interesting, but we would get through it.

Bush never did anything as drastic as Zero did.

The Patriot Act was pretty close.

All the people who said nasty things hinting at death threats didn’t get visits from the Secret Service.

Some of them did. Others didn't. I suspect that the Secret Service has to do a lot of triage, then and now, to determine who needs investigating. And you should also remember that we probably don't hear about a lot of the visits, because the target was too embarrassed to admit it.

There wasn’t a snitch site on the White House website to report “fishy” people who disagree with current policy.

That wasn't sinister, it was just a bunch of amateurs. It reminded me of a bunch of kids in junior high school, harassing each other on MySpace.

I'm actually glad they did it, because they tipped their hand about how desperate they really are.

LOL!

Thanks.

That makes it all sound a whole lot less dire.

Hubby always says I worry too much.
