Why not pay a visit to your area VA Hospital and ask our Veterans what they think about Government run healthcare? As an active duty & Reserve family for the last 15 plus years, I can tell you some of our experiences...TriCare sucks.
One example is a current one we are dealing with. For the last 12 months, my dh has had unbelievable issues with something upper respiratory. Every month, he’s paid a visit to his doc on base. And every month, he’s been told it’s probably allergies, and to take Sudafed or Flonase. 12 MONTHS. As a pilot, it’s kind of important to be able to clear your ears, etc. when flying.
Finally, after 12 months of this cr@p, dh demanded that more be done. Some tests, perhaps? Antibiotics? Something. Someone up the chain decided maybe he should have a CT scan. After weeks of waiting for approval from TriCare, the scans were done. Dh was told to make an appt. in 3 weeks to go over the scans with the doctor. THREE more weeks.
I guess someone saw dh’s films, b/c he had a frantic message on his voicemail two days ago. They need him to come in asap. Dh went in, and as it turns out, he has a mass in his nasal cavity and a completely messed up septum. Rush, rush, rush...surgery scheduled on base in four weeks.
Government run anything is a bad thing. But it’s still everyone’s right to think this is a big bowl of your favorite ice cream. It’s exactly what commies like Obammie want you to do.
Your point is well taken and my argument has often been the veteran’s care. Our Audie Murphy Hospital here in San Antonio leaves alot to be desired. I agree that government run anything is bad. Especially health care which I consider so private. I have heard doctors here argue for and against it. But every time I think of veteran’s care, I cringe. They deserve so much better.
