I clicked on it read about a sport that doesn’t settle an argument on the field. The solution to the problem is really simple. Take the top 10 teams and have a playoff. If number 11 feels they were screwed there must have been a reason they were considered number 11 and not number 1. Try harder next year. Yeah, you would still have to rely on the reporters and coaches with their bias doing the voting but it is better than what they have now.
And for teams like Rice, Baylor, SMu Indiana etc who haven’t fielded a good team in years ..do like they do in soccer and demote their asses to div 2. Top teams in div 2 would take their place.
