Yes, maybe God didn't give me that gift, but, at least I am trying, that's a lot more I can say than some other people who are seeing what is happening to this country and just sit and do nothing.
Not being able to articulate is not a excuse or reason to not to do anything.

I don't agree with David Horowitz on everything. He is not a religious Jew and thus some of his positions are informed by secular idealism, though it is a conservative secular idealism.

HOWEVER, he is not the "phony conservative" some reflexive anti-Semites make him out to be. He is doing yeoman service in defending Glen Beck while other "conservatives" are throwing him to the wolves, and his critiques of the Left are unsparing and his knowledge of them unparalleled.

Gentlemen (and ladies): I say ye David Horowitz!

I hear more insults and jabs at Beck here on FR from the GOP diehards than I do from the ‘left’.
+++++++++++++++

Come on, are you listening to the left? Beck and Rush are their enemies numero uno and dos (take your pick as to who is 1 and 2). It is because of their effectiveness. Beck is a populist, who this morning was slamming on elitists in the GOP that had left behind the ideals of the Reagan revolution.

Yes, the good ol’ elitists in both parties hate Beck and any populist who points out their duplicity and lack of servanthood to this nation and her people.

But you can’t convince me that the left doesn’t hate Back WAY more than the right, GOP diehards on FR notwithstanding..

Yeah, I love Mark, but he needs to lay off Glenn. We’re all on the same side, and our heroes shooting at our other heroes only helps Axelrod and company.
+++++++++++++++

Right, Mark’s one of those guys that is just ‘in your face’ - or in the other guys’ faces (more likely) - I love that. However, don’t cross that guy - he seems to keep a pretty short list of allies...

Maybe with his Liberty and Tyranny doing so well, he’ll become more of a Conservative intellectual - I don’t know if the ratings wars fit well with his personality.

That said, I’m not quite sure what he has against Beck - is it his affinity for the Mormon church (isn’t Beck’s wife Mormon) and how they helped him kick his drinking problem? Excuse me if I’ve got some of this wrong - I’m speaking mainly from memory on the personal past of Beck.

They should stand tall and be courageous — this is what we need, FEARLESS leaders. Iron sharpens iron and all. We will have a FINE group of conservatives, tried and tested by the swine, ready to fight for our country.
+++++++++++++++

Can we get some of them elected - or at least some that are *like* them?

Demint
Jindal
Palin
Joe Wilson
Bachmann
Pence

It’s not working. Look at his ratings. ------------------------ Yup, That about says it all. No defense needed. In fact no response is the best response.

Jingoistic-ally sloganeering into the microphone but no real philosophical underpinnings. I do disagree with the great one on Beck, I think he is solid and effective with that 20-35 demographic.
++++++++++++++

There are different roles for people to play. We don’t all have to be of one stripe.

Beck has just been flat out effective. I think you’re right that somehow Levin thinks he’s a poser, and I’m sure there may be some basic jealousy, at a natural level.

But come on. The fight before us is so large and monumental, we don’t have time to worry about people’s feelings back and forth. Hopefully they’ll get over it.

In fact no response is the best response.
+++++++++++++++

I kind of disagree here. A lot of us stood by while Bush was savaged from many quarters on Iraq. Now many of us also spoke out as well...but too many just had no response.

The Tea Parties I think are proving that appropriate response to the leftist lies can be very important. Especially as they’ve become more radicalized (which started in the kind of Michael Moore driven frenzies against Bush and Iraq).

Liberalism appears more and more to be a mental disorder. And when faced with their unbalance, they become even more unbalanced. So sad for them. And so damaging to themselves and others. May truth free them.

I don't know what Mark's specific problem with Glenn is either---maybe it's something personal that happened off the air between them.

All I know is that Glenn is kicking ass right now and having a MAJOR impact on Obama Administration and his gang of thugs, so Mark needs to cut him some slack whatever his peeve is.

And I believe that Glenn is indeed a converted Mormon.

You’re right. I was referring mostly to Beck responding to the likes of Olbermann. Ignore him as he is fishing for a fight that might just raise his ratings. Beck’s ratings says it all.

http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/salon.com
Salon is flat to down in traffic in the past 12 months, with some increase in the past 6 months. They are ahead of FR in traffic.
http://www.alexa.com/siteinfo/freerepublic.com

Drudge Report is up 48% in the past 3 months, but fairly flat at .3% of all traffic for the past 12 months.

It interesting to look at the relative popularity of different sites.

Free Republic, KOS, and DU run about even...

Red State and MyDD barely even register...

Huffpo blows all of them away...

"Beck really causes them to come unhinged."

But then, how can you tell?

Uh...what “psycho routine”? I watch Beck about every day now, and I haven’t seen any such thing. Yes, he gets animated and shows his frustration and alarm.... and yes, he is sometimes aghast at the ballsiness of the Marxists in charge of ruining the country....but so what? Hell, who wouldn’t be aghast at what the left has been doing? What’s happening is so surreal as to be unbelievable just a year ago.

A lot of what Beck does is just plain funny, like the fake frog boiling. Of course, leftists/liberals don’t HAVE a sense of humor. Apparently, neither do you. Hmmm...

There is something about Beck's style and the way he creates devastating on-air descriptions of the wacko extremists and Marxists in the Obama administration that pushes their buttons. A little like the way Rush causes Franken to lose his mind. Not sure whether they realize this is the whole purpose behind their strategy, to make them overreact. But Beck is not the cause of conservatives' dislike of Obama's policies, so focusing on him is really counterproductive for them.

They seem to just get hysterical that anyone could be on television lampooning and ridiculing liberals and Far Left radical kooks in the administration, identifying them correctlty and accurately as extremists and kooks. They have a temper tantrum that anyone would be able to point this out on television. Maybe because they are not used to sharing the medium?

So they want to silence the critics of the Obama administration. But that's not how the American system is supposed to work. Free Speech.

You’ve got that right. It just amazes (and amuses) me when ‘so-called conservatives’ come onto this, a conservative forum, and bash Glenn Beck....when the transparency of that tactic is glaring. I don’t recall anyone targeting Glenn Beck so viciously BEFORE he was credited with taking down Van Jones. It’s just the latest/current leftist attempt at payback amd their ever juvenile and childish norm of ‘tit for tat’...and it’s failing miserably.

You gotta laugh at the morons. They’re not bright enough to realize how really obvious they are. They actually think they’re fooling us.

Beck has been getting a little too close to the truth about their agenda.
So the orders have gone out to smear him.
That's not surprising.

He's been talking about the funding and puppetmasters behind ACORN
and Obama's Marxists.That gets a little too close to the truth.
If they ever tore the mask off of Soros and his other puppetmasters, he'd get even more heat.

"Most of us believe socialism is what the socialists want us to believe it is - a share-the-wealth program. That is the theory. But is that how it works?... If one understands that socialism is not a share-the-wealth program, but is in reality a method to consolidate and control the wealth, then the seeming paradox of super-rich men promoting socialism becomes no paradox at all. Instead it becomes the logical, even the perfect tool of power-seeking megalomaniacs. Communism, or more accurately, socialism, is not a movement of the downtrodden masses, but of the economic elite."

Exactly. You can always tell who the most effective opponents of the left are at any given time. They’re always the one/ones that the left is targeting the most viciously. During the Clintonista reign it was Rush (remember his tv show?). The more the left attacks Beck, the more I like Beck...and apparently same goes for most other conservatives. Funny how that works.

You know....it’s really weird. I can remember while growing up being vehmently anti-communist for as far back as I CAN recall. Why? I have...(correction)....HAD no idea. It was always just this inner hatred, fear and loathing and it was there waaaay before I even knew exactly what communism was. Somehow, it’s all starting to make perfect sense.

Truth IS stranger than fiction...and so is this new reality we’re living with. We will keep supporting those that expose that truth and we will help that exposure process in any and every way we can. Just as lying, deceiving and being corrupt is the left’s job...as conservatives, exposing the truth of the left’s corrupton is our job.
