Navy Vet, I know Kirk and was disappointed in his cap n’ trade vote, too, but he’s our best hope in Illinois. And he will win the primary. This is mainly posturing from the establishment. The GOP establisment in Illinois is a mess, thoroughly infiltrated by democrats and was one the MAIN reasons that Fitzgerald from Illinois quit the senate. Peter Fitzgerald made no friends in the Illinois GOP by opposing bipartisan pork projects such as O’Hare expansion and the shenanigans of now jailed former GOP governor George Ryan. He quit because he knew the establishment wouldn’t support him and he’d have to pay for his second campaign himself just like he did his first senate campaign.
