In a little noticed interview with the Daily Beast (presumably little noticed because serious people don't read the Daily Beast), Zbigniew Brzezinski suggests that Barack Obama do more than just refuse to support an Israeli strike on Iran's nuclear sites -- the American president must give the order to shoot down Israeli aircraft as they cross Iraqi airspace:
DB: How aggressive can Obama be in insisting to the Israelis that a military strike might be in Americas worst interest?
Brzezinski: We are not exactly impotent little babies. They have to fly over our airspace in Iraq. Are we just going to sit there and watch?
DB: What if they fly over anyway?
Brzezinski: Well, we have to be serious about denying them that right. That means a denial where you arent just saying it. If they fly over, you go up and confront them. They have the choice of turning back or not. No one wishes for this but it could be a Liberty in reverse.
Contrary to Brezinski's half-hearted disclaimer that no one wishes for such an outcome, there are plenty on the left who would delight in a pitched battle between the United States and Israel. Democrats in Congress routinely support resolutions affirming Israel's right to take whatever steps it deems necessary to assure its own national defense. And Obama has at least paid lip service to the concept. But hostility to Israel among the rank and file is very real on the left -- and among "realists."
So conjure the image -- the Obama administration sending U.S. aircraft up to protect Iran's airspace and it's nuclear installations from an attack by a democracy that is one of America's closest allies. Unfortunately, this may not be so hard to imagine in Israel, where the number of people who believe Obama is pro-Israel is at just 4 percent -- and falling. And given Obama's (literally) submissive posture to the Saudis, his indulgence of the Iranians, and his simultaneously hard-line approach to Israel, it seems even some of Obama's supporters can savor the possibility of a "reverse Liberty."
so the liberal idiots against the war in Iraq now claim it as ‘our airspace’. I see.
All the time I try to convince people Poles are not Anti-Semites, this Dupa has to open his mouth.
That would be the final end of whatever arrangement still exists between Jews and the dem party in America.
Any jet that Obama sends against Israel will be a jet that he will lose.
I’d like to think that Emanuel would have enough love for Israel somewhere deep in his chest cavity to keep such a thing from ever happening.
Ziggy strikes again.
There’s something in some old book about all the nations of the Earth aligning against Israel. This would certainly seem to count. Recall it doesn’t turn out so well for those nations. Phraseology such as “bitter cup” comes to mind. Gee, wonder where I read that? /sarc
Yup, that’s a though millions are having right now. Must be some German blood in those veins or something./sarc
Brzezinski preferred the Polish Communists when they were running most of the remaining Jews out of the country back in 1968.
Frankly, there are people who would accuse the daughter of being an anti-semite for defending her father.
Obama's already taken more anti-semitic acts than any previous President, and it's the ACTS that count far more than mere WORDS, particularly words you have to parse 6 ways from Sunday to turn into unambiguous antisemitic statements.
Best to keep the eye on the real enemy, and not the shadows.
I want you to notice something very important. The Obama/Emanuel ensemble has already brought Democrat members of Congress who are of Polish descent to join him in betraying Poland "one more time" to the Russians, He's also brought Democrat members of Congress who are of European Jewish descent to join him in betrahing Israel.
You see the problem?
The problem I have is “who bought who”?
Realistically there is zero chance US pilots would fly against Israel. If they did, though, good as the Israelis are, they have no answer to F-22’s.
Oh, that’s right, zero cut those, too. Nevermind.
Please clarify your point more. I am having a difficult time with the connections. thanks.
I think it’s pretty beyond question that Zbigniew Brzezinski and his comrades in the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), do not have the interests of the United States in mind. What they want the world to become is little different than what SPECTRE would want.
“CSIS provides strategic insights and policy solutions to decision makers in government, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society.”
And invariably, these “strategic insights and policy solutions” call for the diminishing of American power, embracing international governance, and seek to erode the rights and well-being of American citizens.
Other members of CSIS include: Henry Kissinger, William Cohen—turncoat ex-Republican, Madeleine Albright, Richard Armitage, Richard Mellon Scaife, and Harold Brown—draft dodging Carter SecDef.
I would trust the foreign policy advice of a guy named Bubba who was a truck engine mechanic a LOT more than I would trust any of these dubious characters.
