Naw. He attended a couple of communist meetings before he became a conservative and a Christian and was blacklist for it in the 1950's....at least that's what his biography said. He jokingly called his kids "little communists."
From biography at several sites: "blacklisted for his outspoken liberal views in the early 1950s, he was an ardent supporter of Richard M. Nixon in 1968." Guess he is an individualist.
