The bill was never approved by the Senate in this form. It was later co-opted by the Senate as the "vehicle" for the quick passage of the economic stimulus bill, by replacing the entire text of the measure with the stimulus bill.

I thought no Rep in the House voted for the stimulus bill. Isn't it misleading to equate HR 1424 with the bailout?
