Is a three-wheeled vehicle an "automobile?" That question is at the center of a vigorous lobbying effort in Washington, that would help little car makers like Aptera qualify for a slice of the $25 billion loan program administered by the Department of Energy. Look at the TriHawk which Harley has the rights too and has done sqwat with. it was esentially a "lotus 7" with 3 wheels, FWD but you get the point.
looks like off road auto to me....
It is a nice golf cart.
So let me be sure I’ve got this straight.
Companies like GM who build large vehicles that are very safe, but get less economy, so that customers can decide what’s important for themselves are bad.
Companies like Aptera, who build a plastic capsule of death that gets great economy, so that customers can decide what’s important for themselves are good.
As an aside, I know three-wheelers have the potential for great stability on dry pavement. Are there any studies of their performance on snow? I notice with some amusement that there are no motorcycles on the road in certain seasons - and I’m sure it isn’t becuase appropriate all-weather clothing isn’t available.
The fix is now in
What GM wants, GM gets
Govt protects their own.
I have seen some interesting “reverse trikes” on the road around Gainesville and Dawsonville, GA. Don’t know what they are or who makes them, but they’re definitely motorcycles.
I have also seen some sort of “training wheels” set up for motorcycles - two large wheels on some sort of frame set up on either side of the motorcycle’s rear wheel - four wheels. Does that make them a car?
Funny, the Morgan three-wheeler was always considered a car rather than a motorcycle.
At LEAST the “Bond Bug” had a roof!

Note the Brit's did the Three wheel thing to avoid taxes.
Lower taxes, potentially lower insurance and price beecause you do not need all the emissions and saftey crap would make GM shutter....
Because 3-wheeled vehicles are considered “motorcycles”, in many states which follow federal guidelines, you need a motorcycle license to operate them, which is silly because some of them drive like cars.
In Massachussets, it turns out that due to quirks in the law, you can’t even register one of the 3-wheeled electric cars, although they had already registered some before the figured out they couldn’t.
Government makes so many rules and regulations that they can’t keep track, and the regulations often are senseless and lead to unintended consequences (like keeping people from buying a more efficient vehicle because they don’t want to go through the expense and trouble of getting a motorcycle license).

There is also the Campagna T-Rex, which is a tandem seat 3 wheeler powered by a turbocharged Hayabusa engine, and will do about 180 mph.
While this car may have it’s uses as a commuter car, these people need to get their own financing. I don’t want to finance any more businesses thank you. The government needs to get the hell out of the loan business! How frustrating the terrible communist administration is, and then you have a**hats like this lining up at the trough.
One:)Motorcycles can, and are, driven in the snow(actually they have ice races in Canada with motorcycles). Two:)No matter what type of clothing you have it is COLD when riding in the winter. 3:)3 wheels are counted as a motorcycle but are much more stable than a bike, depending on the wheel placement, of course. 4:)Even though bikes can be ridden in the winter, they are, of course, much less stable on snow and ice than 3 or 4 wheeled vehicles. 5:)Let these a**hats finance their own car, if there is a market for it they will make money, if not they won't, but it isn't up to the government to give them my money so they can start up their company.
then it qualifies for on road as a motor cycle?
Where do you put your golf clubs?
