Um, the 'warmonger' quip was tongue-in-cheek, intended to evoke a reaction from clueless socialists who foolishly see themselves as pure and driven by completely harmless, altruistic motives (as contrasted with those evil capitalists and international Zionist bankers and puppy-killing Republican environment-rapists), and who therefore typically evidence little support for the military (except when it is being used to effect social engineering, for example, normalizing gays' status in society by pushing for acceptance of gays in the military)... You will be hard pressed to find a truthful socialist who will admit that destruction of freedom and repression of the public by force is a prerequisite for its widespread adoption.
If you're lucky, when you confront a socialist with the military origins of government programs that they tout as evidence of the beneficence of government control and largesse, you will be treated to the spectacle of seeing the socialist's head explode (so you might want to stand far enough away that you avoid most of the splatter)...
