In a Bizarre Ending, Clijsters Beats Williams

With Kim Clijsters leading, 6-5, in the second set, and Serena Williams down by 15-30, Williams goes up the T but misses, then foot faults. she scolds the lineswoman, but she’s down to match point. Brian Earley, the tournament manager, appears. An argument ensues. Williams is given a warning, which costs her a point. The match is over. Williams is heard to say: “I didn’t say I would kill you.” An argument on match point. Suddenly, Williams walks to the other side of the net and shakes Clijsters’s hand. It’s over. Has she defaulted? The lineswoman retreats to the exit. No announcement can be heard. Williams walks out under a storm of boos.
Serena in an ugly moment was dismissed by the US OPEN authorities. Trust me, it is not in the best interest of the US OPEN to end a match that way.
It was terminated due to Serena’s very CLASSLESS (to say the least) comments, period!
