Pawlenty Backs, Echoes Palin on Health Care Reform
C4P ^ | September 11, 2009 | Tim Lindell

Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty took a trip to the Old Dominion this week to campaign for Virginia gubernatorial candidate Bob McDonnell. The Free Lance-Star reports that "several dozen" people turned out to meet with him in Fredericksburg, and Mark Hemingway of National Review notes another "few dozen" showed up to see him in Alexandria.

Given the current focus on the health care debate throughout the nation this week, it's unsurprising that Pawlenty faced questions on the issue. National Journal reports:

As GOP opposition to Obama reached a fever pitch in Aug., Pawlenty was not the GOPer who carried the flag. That duty fell to the woman who beat him out for the VP slot, ex-AK Gov. Sarah Palin (R). And yesterday, a Palin op-ed in the Wall Street Journal again dominated the nat'l storyline as the country prepared for Pres. Obama's health care address. And rather than be a lead voice of his party on the topic, Pawlenty spent a much of the day taking questions on Palin.

In VA, it was the same story.

[...]

Pawlenty, asked to weigh in on Palin's WSJ op-ed: "I think the general concern is, when you have prominent proponents of the current legislation talk about needing to reduce health care expenditures and reduce health care procedures, that leads to concerns about whether there's going to be scarcity and, down the road, rationing. And so, if you have scarcity and rationing, you could get -- or your mom or dad or your grandma or your grandpa could get -- less health care. And so, that's of concern, understandably."

Pawlenty is a good politician..I will give him that, but like most Republicans he fears the MSM more than us.

He does seem to be a good politician if there is such a thing. But he needs to stay away from the MSM.

I am really warming up to Tim Pawlenty. I think he might be able to lead us to the Promised Land in 2012 . . aka the White House.

A few dozen???? If this guy wants to win he should plead with Palin to go to VA and do some campaign stops with him.

So, Pawlenty drew a crowd of “dozens,” that about says it all right there. At the end of May Romney appeared with Christie in NJ and drew a crowd of FIFTY. In April Romney, McCain, Jeb Bush and Cantor had to give away free pizza to get 100 people to attend their “big event.” If McDonnell or any other republican candidate wants big crowds, they have to get Palin to campaign with them. My bet is that McDonnell will have Palin campaign with him the last 2 or 3 before the election, maybe 6 to 9 events, drawing an average of 10,000 or so.

‘Let me be clear, as I’ve said before’ to win the WH you need a candidate who will fire up millions and get them not only to give $$, but also to get their friends to give $$, knock on doors, come to rallies, work phone banks, etc. As of right now, there is only one GOPer who can generate that much heat. See my tagline.

Pawlenty supports amnesty and is a manmade climate change believer. I don’t trust him.

Well who wouldn't warm up to someone capable of attracting "dozens" of voters to a campaign event!
Good luck to Pawlenty but the GOP 2012 nomination is all settled if she decides to run -

And who will be the campaign manager, Levi Johnston?

No, we need someone who is squeaky clean.

Asinine comment.

No, we need someone who is squeaky clean.

Cite one instance of Mrs. Palin not being "squeky clean'. The grand lady of Alaska is a devout Christian, loving wife and mother. Do not attempt to malign her.

From a Whisper to a Shout: Tim Pawlenty

From the size of the crowds he attracts I'd think a whisper would suffice. ;^)

Palin is squeaky clean. Stop believing the lies from the mainstream media. She is a reformer who cleaned up Alaska politics. What the Hell does Levi Johnston has to do with this? He is completely irrelevant and is a tool for the left-wing. Pawlenty is not a popular Governor, has all the charisma of a bowl of corn flakes, and supports amnesty/global warming/ethanol. And if you don’t have charisma and grassroots supporters, you’re not going to win the WH.

Gutter level idiotic comment I would expect from a RINO newbie.

You should listen to your favorite Pawlenty and recognize that Palin is leading the way.
