Barack Obama's healthcare speech before both Houses of Congress tonight is pure politics. In a last-ditch effort to stop the unraveling of his Presidency, which has taken hit after hit for the past 2 months, Obama hopes that by addressing Congress and the citizens who watch on TV he can save the program that defines his plan for America--the government takeover of healthcare.
On several fronts the Obama Presidency is in deep trouble.

The depth of Obama’s troubles is directly proportional to the amount of time he spends talking about health care. I predict that after tonight, he will find himself in even deeper trouble. Needless to say, the mainstream media, captivated as usual by his “eloquence” in arguing the “moral” case for reform, will attribute this growing opposition to flagrant racism.

One speech will change anything...this whole bill is in a free fall, slow as it may seem, it is in a free fall.
There’s no “saving” the way it is written or percieved.
Tax cut always sounds good but this one would have the effect of raising the cost of insurance a lot, especially but not only if it came with mandating the provisions that the insurance must contain which is probably inevitable.
