Former Comptroller General of the United States David Walker has been sounding the warnings of impending Federal bankruptcy for years. The largest problem is Federal health care entitlements — a factor to be seriously considered as Congress debates yet another proposed health care entitlement bill. [Videos]

I have been forwarding his comments for years. This is the man who had to sign the financial statements for the United States, he knows what he is talking about. Every year he would testify to congress that we were in big trouble and that every year we waited to fix it it would get worse and they ignored him. The main stream media ignores him, and to our peril we ignore him. Within the next 30 years Social security, Medicare, and medicaid are projected to take ALL of the governments tax receipts! ALL!!!

Why do our elected representatives keep ignoring this?
We are in big trouble unless we find leaders who act rationally.

If David Walker had run for President in the last election, he could have won, regardless of what party he was in. He brings back memories of Reagan's most passionate and convincing campaign speeches during the 1980 election.

But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honor, but in his own country, and among his own kin, and in his own house. — Mark 6:4

I forget how long ago it was that I first heard Walker, but it has been a while. At the time I thought, “They can’t ignore this guy! He speaks with authority and states the problem clearly.” So far, I’ve been dead wrong. It’s like the news of automobile wrecks - - you don’t hear or read about folks taking their cars in for preventive maintenance, but when someone dies in a fiery crash, it makes the front page and is the lead story in the local news. We’re still headed for the wreck - - no news yet.

I like to think you are right, but I’m afraid neither major party would have nominated him, and when Ross Perot ran third-party on much the same basis in ‘92 and ‘96 he didn’t come close. He did well, but didn’t get into contention. Promises of a rosy future sell much better than forecasts of impending doom.

I agree, David Walker is the real-deal. A must listen to.
