In the 2006 November election cycle, Republicans lost control of the Minnesota House, the Iowa House, the Wisconsin Senate, as well as three U.S. House seats (MN-01, IA-01, WI-08). When the country under FDR was broke, and people were living in cardboard boxes he distributed stimulus money in the form of WPA and AAA projects to those of his Democrat allies for New Deal legislation. FDR was reelected by over 90% of the electoral vote. Wake up Republicans in Congress and smell the coffee!
BHO is using the same playbook authored by FDR. The New York Times reports that “Mr. Obama says the nation could save huge sums if all doctors and hospitals were as efficient as those in lower-cost states like Iowa, Minnesota, Washington and Wisconsin. Lawmakers from those states have reached an agreement with House Democratic leaders that would increase federal Medicare payments to health providers in their states. Higher-cost states, which could see their Medicare payments reduced, are fighting back.”
It’s not about rewarding states with low costs. It’s about passing out largess to Democrats in those more conservative states to reward voters for changing sides and to show them that the Democrats know how to reward loyalty.
BHO is saying that the Republicans have no alternative to offer. According to his press secretary, Republicans in Congress just know how to engage in an animal house food fight, but have nothing constructive to add to the healthcare debate. The only Republican who has a handle on this is Sara Palin, and she apparently has no friends in Congress on either side of the isle. I hate to admit that my favorite Senator Johnny Isakson even attacked her by saying that her “death panel” statement was “nuts”.
I’m waiting to see which Republicans stand up in front of a microphone and video cameras to point out how this President is distributing taxpayer money to buy votes for his healthcare takeover. Unless Republican politicians take to the streets and start earning their salaries, this President will eat them up and spit them out like stale chewing gum.
Challenge to voters:
ARE YOU GOING TO VOTE PRINCIPLES OR PATRONAGE?
Vote patronage and you lose your freedom.

I lump indies with Conservatives.
I lump moderates with Liberals.
I have a new way to think of CONSERVATIVES. I got the idea from Coulter who referred to Newt as the "talker". I think what she was referring to was his abortive bid for the nomination. In other words, I don't enjoy getting an email from my congressman and never reading or listening or watching them say it in the newspaper, radio, or television. I don't need the halftime speech, independents and moderate Democrats need the speech. Congresselectees don't make my blog unless I see them stick out their necks by standing in front of a death squad of liberal reporters and tell them what they say in their emails to me. Johnny Isakson is a good man and he will have my support for sticking his neck out, but he should not have said it was "nuts" for Sara Palin to characterization of end-of-life counseling as a "death panel". I'll give him a pass on that one, but it wasn't helpful at all.
