A new Gallup poll on Obamacare was released this morning and it showed that there is still a great deal of Division in America regarding the health care issue. More than anything the divide is along party lines with democrats supporting the plan, independents and Republicans opposing. Members of Congress should pay heed that Americans, especially the bill's opponents, will use the Obamacare vote as a key factor in determining who to vote for in the 2010 elections.

Obama has already put the word out to the Democrats to publicly say they will vote against it in order to preserve their positions. The word I’m sure is we, “The President and democrats”, will sneak it through another way.

Other than in a few districts, like Nancy Pelosi’s or Barney Frank’s, Democrats need independent votes to get elected. I would think those Democrat members of Congress would be very scared of what would happen if Obamacare gets rammed through Congress.

Most people don’t want medical services delivered by the Department of Motor Vehicles, or the IRS. The citizens who vote by proxy (whatever...) or don’t pay attention (moderates) have turned against this turkey.

Somehow, I’m not that optimistic that if they passed the bill this year the Dims will pay next year. Reasons, among others: (1) Election is about a year from the planned-votes. Many things can happen, and people have short memory. (2) While voters in general express their dislike of the Congress, they are more likely to vote for their own incumbent, especially those who bring home some pork. (3) The Republicans don’t seem to have anything that can be offered to convince people voting for them. No leader (in the Congress itself), no plan.
