Someone correct me if I am wrong but Lt Calley was tried, convicted, and pardoned in less time then these Marines have been forced to wait for Justice.

Thanks for the ping, Red. Not exactly what I wanted to read on a beautiful Sunday morning.
FOUR YEARS! This is absolutely pathetic. Thank you for your diligence and continued efforts to keep us informed.
Prayers continue for LtCol Chessani and Sgt Wuterich.

Long....but excellent article by Lt Col Bob Weimann. This Board of Inquiry is nonsense. Great explanation of its use and historical perspective.

Well, that sent me to the reference shelf.
Calley was charged on September 5, 1969, convicted on March 29, 1971, and paroled on November 8, 1974--which is as close as Calley got to a pardon.
In the Haditha case, the incident occured on December 21, 2006, charges were filed on October 19, 2007 and here we are with no end in sight.

Thanks for the ping Red.
The prosecution may get the sullied political victory they're after, but we know what they are really about, and so it will be recorded in history. They will not escape the shame they brought upon themselves and the dishonor they brought upon the Marines.

For those that don't know, here's info about LtCol Chessanis defense team:
The Thomas Law Center, a national public interest law firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan, has been defending LtCol Chessani at no charge. The Law Centers attorneys, Robert Muise and Brian Rooney, are both former Marine officers. Detailed military attorneys LtCol Jon Shelburne, USMC, and Capt Jeffrey King, USMC, have also represented LtCol Chessani throughout the criminal process.

Well Happily I am wrong however this is a great miscarriage of justice and nowhere near the speedy trial any of these Marines deserve.
In my mind they are dragging their feet so they can have a conviction without a public outcry in a couple of years.

I thought the Haditha incident occured on November 19, 2005 and charges were filed December 21, 2006.

This is a f’ing travesty of justice. Makes me think of the time Gen. Hagee’s wife mentioned politics and rolled her eyes.

That's right. So from the incident in 2005, we're closing in on 4 years. It's been almost 2 years since SSgt Wuterich had his article 32 hearing.

All the allegations are essentially focused on Article 92 of the UCMJ; Failure to obey an order or regulation. All the allegations state that he “willfully failed to report” or “investigate”.
This is where they will get LtCol Chessani.
