NO! NO! NO! If this report is accurate, a “trigger” is just semantics to a back-door public option!!!

“Obama and friends”
If it isn’t clear Obama is in the pocket of insurance companies by now to this man, nothing will change him. A greenspanian libertarian useful idiot mind.
“Socialism”. Whatever.

Bait and Switch: he'll be able to announce something that
sounds like a compromise - a trigger that might never happen... except that we all know there will be a wink, wink, nudge, nudge thing with the Dem leadership since it will undoubtedly be a hair trigger that will go off shortly after Snowe votes for it.
But since it's a "compromise", the entire move will be designed to garner new public support and back down the attacks... just long enough to gain passage.

so, if the insurance companies don’t have a plan out there in two years for every American at every age for a $50/month premium that covers aromatherapy and hangnail removal, the Public Option will be “triggered” quickly leading to single payer

Castro used to say, “Three steps forward; one step back”. He seized power and tightened the controls gradually with some concessions which were later withdrawn.

Obama and friends are taking a play from the Hillary Clinton playbook....proposing a "trigger"Not just the Hillary playbook. Remember, Kennedy/McCain/Bush had a "trigger" for amnesty in 2007.

My colleague Dana Bash and I have learned from a source, each one of us, that this White House right now is very quietly in serious conversations with Republican Senator Olympia Snowe, a key moderate. How ludicrous is this? The Dems have overwhelming control of Congress. They can pass this without a single Rep vote. Why the "negotiations" with Snowe? Note: That is a rhetorical question. The answer is obvious.

All of this talk about public option vs. trigger option is just a page right out of the Democratic playbook. Distract us so that we are concentrated on ONE small part of a bill. They don't want us to think about the larger body of the bill and what it implicates. IMO, the bill is designed to create union jobs, shore up union retirement plans and funnel more funds to ACORN. The SEIU will gain significant membership when all their new free "services" for everyone are instituted.
