Already concerned parents are getting push back from some otherwise smart and well-meaning people who contend that he's not giving a political message--he's "just giving a pep talk."

The don't understand. Obama HIMSELF is the message And that message is HIGHLY partisan, and OUTRAGEOUSLY political.

He is taking on the role of Big Brother, straight out of Orwell's "1984."

My wife just emailed both of our principals, regardless of what they reply is, what are pulling our kids from school on Tuesday

He needs to stay the hell out of the schools altogether.

Your reactions are right on target.

No matter how BO and the media spin this event (you can be damn sure they’ll portray it as bit of encouragement from an all-knowing father of two), it is a blatant attempt to seize parental status and authority.

Others would do well to follow your lead. This Orwellian psychological invasion needs to be nipped in the bud.

A nationwide sick-out/boycott is the most effective means to express parental outrage.

This is unprecedented. As Mark Levin pointed out yesterday, this has never been done by any American president - to bypass parents to have an audience with their children in the classroom. It smacks of fascist indoctrination - start early, bypass the parents, get your message in there. Unbelievable. If my kids were still in school I would keep them home that day and let the school know why. Actually, I understand that there is a “National Skip Day” being organized by a group of smart parents in California, I believe. I hope it becomes a national thing - let this fascist demogogue in the White House know we are NOT going to tolerate this crap.

His speech will contain unexceptional bromides. The problem is in the precedent andthe focus on the man himself. He is building a Marxist-style cult of personality, and with the suggested lessons provided by the Department of Education, he can be assured that liberal teachers will use the opportunity to push his cult of personality.

The “learning material” provided to teachers leaves no doubt about political motives.

I haven't seen the material. What is in it and can it be found on the web?

Also, in this depression, how much is this “learning material” costing in tax dollars?

‘Obama HIMSELF is the message’

Exactly! We are seeing Obama at his core, obviously. I pray that those with a modest interest in politics will start seeing it too.

0bama is dangerous in so many ways - I never thought I’d see freedom so threatened in this Country.

It’s not a new problem — In fact is an age old problem. Tyrants come in all flavors, from the DMV clerk wielding power by telling you what to do, to the head of state doing the same.

It’s just that we Americans have become too comfortable in our lives, comforts and fortunes to pay much attention to the very country that makes those things possible. We have taken America, it’s freedoms and liberties, for granted way too long.

If zer0 thinks we’ll go along like sheep, he hasn’t studied, or doesn’t understand the American psyche or our history.

Hopefully you are right ... when you consider that about 10% of Americans were behind the original Revolutionary War, you have good odds.

But it isn’t going to happen just wishing it will.
