Krauthammer Says Dick Cheney is Winning the Argument on "Enhanced Interrogations" - Video 8/31/09

Here is video of Charles Krauthammer saying yesterday that former Vice-President Dick Cheney is "winning" on the issue of Enhanced Interrogation - what those on the Left call "torture."

Krauthammer talks about the fact that Khalid Sheikh Mohammed (KSM) - the mastermind of the September 11 attacks - would say nothing until he was subjected to enhanced interrogation tactics (waterboarding). But afterward, Krauthammer says he became a "professor," giving information that saved untold numbers of lives from further attacks.

Krauthammer said Americans know intuitively that these tactics have kept the nation safer, and the Left is losing the argument. . . . . (Watch Video)

Yet, they continue to be re-elected.

Middle America has never heard of Charles Krauthammer.

Middle America has heard of and listens to Katie Couric, and whoever reads the news on their favorite FM radio station.

We’ll see if they all get re-elected in 2010 and 2012.

I wanted Cheney as well. But let’s be reasonable... with his health concerns, did you really think he would run?

I even believe the baggage that the media strapped on his back would have been done away with during his campaign. But, JKF’s and FDR’s health was hidden from the people during their campaigns and much of their presidency. Not so with Cheney. It’s the one thing I don’t think he could have overcome.

That explains the current Socialist government in power in this country.

The majority of Americans don’t get it, but I do. I don’t particularly care whether the rest come into the light, or not. We did not cross the line. We stepped up to the last remnant of it, but we didn’t cross it. The fact that we gave very, very bad men a very, very bad fright pales in comparison to what they had in mind for us and our dear children who are in harm’s way.

Let’s just take a look at WHY the “enhanced interrogations” worked. A drill, a lit cigar, simulated drowning. It’s because the targeted individuals were used to the full implementation of those seemingly innocuous items. If I had been sitting in a room with the interrogators, I would have choked on the cigar smoke, thought they had a loose bolt on the metal chair and wondered when the baptismal ceremony was coming to an end. I would have never thought they intended to use them on me.

We were dealing with targeted terrorists who, quite frankly, used far more sadistic measures on our men and women deployed than those our CIA suggested in interrogations. I truly hope that I am never called upon to obtain information under “enhanced” methods. I don’t have the heart for it (and all of our collective asses would be in mortal danger), but I also have a heart for those who must do so and for whom failure is not an option.

The left has always been soft on crime, soft on terrorists.

Always blaming ‘root causes’ to the detriment of the innocent victims.

The left would have us forget the atrocities that came before 9/11 and forget 9/11 too.

They would blame enhanced interrogation for the beheading of Daniel Pearl, the US embassy bombings,s the Khobar Towers bombing, the bombing of the USS Cole.

We cannot allow them to continue on with their lie.

Blackhawk Down was not in response to our mean treatment of terrorist.

The problem with the far left is that they cannot identify true crime. They make crimes of behavior that is far from criminal. The cannot see the forest for the trees. If you say bad words you can be arrested and do jail time — believe me that's a fact Jack.

The left focuses on thought crimes, intentions, they get their exercise jumping to conclusions over trees, salamanders, seal pups, whales, but have no heart for fetuses, crucifixions, global warming, while some of us are certainly sympathetic to all those things but not at the expense of the nation. The fact that people starve with mass, rapid transitions is no problem for folks who think the ends justifies the means. Collateral damage that they accuse us of being immune to. There is no common ground for the fringe on either side. SOMEBODY has to be the ADULT in the room and I'm not seeing any volunteers.

Mogadishu is the prime example of how we are treated on a mission of mercy. That crime of a miserable, uneducated, intelligence challenged population against our finest should stand out as one of the worst crimes against all humanity in history. To me it's right up there with the Holocaust, the Inquisition and the Crusades, the Salem Witch Trials (and those that occurred in Europe at the same time).

on to 2010 & 2012...but the GOP better get their friggin’ act together!

McCain is the result of a broken primary system. New Hampshire and South Carolina decided our nominee. These two wins made sure that the media would talk about nothing else but McCain... effectively drying up the money for Thompson, et al

If we are to have a primary, then all states must go out on the same day so that the voters in Ohio have the same choice as the voters in New Hampshire. Until that happens, there may be other McCains down the road. I hope not... but the system, especially with open primaries, seem to work against conservatives (who are too busy destroying effective candidates because those candidates are never too conservative enough).

Palin 2012!
