Gibbs Uses "War on Terror" in Briefing Though White House Said There is No "War on Terror" - Video

Here is video of White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs today going back to using the phrase "War on Terror" in answer to a question as to why things are getting worse in Afghanistan.

Gibbs was very defensive, launching into a response that essentially blamed it all on George W. Bush, saying it won't be turned around in a few months "after years of neglect." He then went on to say:

"You can't under-resource the most important part of our War on Terror - you can't under-resource that for five, or six, or seven years.....and hope to snap your fingers and have that turn around in a few months."

Less than a month ago, top White House counter-terrorism official John Brennan delivered a speech in which he said America is not in a "War on Terror." (Watch Video of Gibbs Today)

I have noticed something but haven't seen anything written about it.

While President Bush was still in office there was much ado about the liberals wanting to SHOW pictures of the members of the Military, who were killed, being returned and unloaded off of the planes. The newspapers constantly reported the numbers of those killed.

I understand this has been the worst month in Afghanistan and there have been bombings in Iraq but have scarcely seen much mention of it in the press. Am I mistaken?

I have been wondering the same thing myself. Where are the daily death counts of US soldiers that we saw under Bush? Things have gone south since BO took over and it's his problem. He constantly plays the wimpy, whiney boy by blaming his predecessors.

So Gibbs claims the war was ‘underfunded, under resourced, undermanned, neglected and ignored’ for almost a decade.. these things were the responsiblity of Congress. Well why didn’t Senators Obama and Biden DO something about that? Oh and Pelosi, Reid, Kennedy, Rockefeller,????? What they did was fight against funding! They fought against the surge! Biden stood on the Senate floor and declared 5 years ago or so, ‘this war is LOST’...Now stand and cry it was underresourced! I AM OUTRAGED. As I recall, Obama had all the answers regarding Afghanistan during the campaign and it is the war the Dems have always wanted to fight, or so they said.
