Republican Comeback: The Leaderless ‘Party of No’ Is On the Rise
North Star Writers Group ^ | August 31, 2009 | Paul Ibrahim

Since November, we have heard it from political “strategists” on TV and read it in online commentary: The Republican Party is in trouble. The Republican Party cannot win if it remains the “Party of No.” The Republican Party is “leaderless,” and absolutely must figure out who its “leader” is. The Republican Party must “moderate” its views in order to stand a chance in future elections.

Well, it has been only eight months since the inauguration of the unequivocal “leader” of the “Party of Yes” and his enormous congressional majorities, and, well, he’s not doing so hot. The half-deity at the Democratic Party’s head has seemingly made an impressively concerted effort to force a collapse in his numbers in every single poll, some of which have shown his approval ratings fall below 50 percent and his disapproval ratings in majority territory.

Despite a silver tongue, zombified supporters and propaganda signs at every roadwork site reminding the populace of how The One is benevolently and generously rebuilding their roads via his “stimulus” package, Barack Obama is already on the verge of objectively becoming an unpopular president.

I’d much prefer we were the party of “Hell No!”, right about now.

If they had a brain in their heads, they’d wear the “Party of NO” label like a badge of honor.

we just said no to John McCain and the RHINO politics. We are damn tired of the liberal press picking our candidates.

Well from the White House perspective, this was only a terrorists, so the release poses little threat. Now if it was a conservative talk show radio, the White House would have demanded that they keep him in jail. As ridiculous as that sounds, I firmly believe it is true. The White House does not care about fighting terrorism, it cares only about fighting conservative Americans.

Republicans have been playing their cards right, and have been doing it in complete inconsistency with the prevailing conventional wisdom.

State-run media has been blindsided by this.

Its fun to watch.

It’s more of a conservative comback rather than a GOP comeback as McCain and Company haven’t learned anything from the revolt.

The only reason the GOP is doing well now because of a backlash.

It’s like they say in football, when the team sucks, the most popular player is the backup quarterback.

RE :”The Republican Party is “leaderless,” and absolutely must figure out who its “leader” is. The Republican Party must “moderate” its views in order to stand a chance in future elections

R party is pretty close to worthless, except in opposition, which is needed now. Not having a leader means not having someone they can attack .Rush, Palin, seem to be MSNBCs favorites now to keep their base engaged, otherwise little effect

I would say a deadlock in congress with democrats with slim majority in 2010 is our best bet. Then make Obama come to republicans, like Bush did to democrats, to get stuff done.

The republican party, as it currently exists is NOT on the rise. For better or worse, the public at large associates “conservatives” with republicans and its conservatives that are on the rise. WE are the ones out there beating back the socialists! WE are the ones out there getting pissed and getting in faces! WE are the ones the the public sees and agrees with... Not the little socialist f—ks that infest the current GOP.

If the GOP is going to rise by OUR hands then it should be controlled by OUR hands! Its time to take over every last square inch of the republican party, kick out every last socialist POS and replace them with honest to god. real life “right wing extremists”! So when the public votes for the GOP during an election, they actually get what they voted for...

The days of “reaching across the isle” and civility towards marxist / socialists are over. Forever...

We WILL be free again, and whether it comes through secession (real or defacto) or through the current electoral system is just a matter of which happens first. Either way, we are going to need to control the GOP at the state level and while it would be nice to control the national GOP, its not absolutely necessary. However, it only seems right that since WE are responsible for the predicted resurrection of the republican party, that WE should be the ones calling the shots.

Trust me on this.. It would be a an absolute f’ing DISASTER if the socialist pricks currently infesting the GOP benefited by OUR work, and used it to further THEIR agenda. F—k that... Do NOT let that happen!

I prefer the term, the party of KNOW, which is the conservative movement. We have enough RINO’s in office right now. To them, we say NO.

We’ll see next year exactly how successful that revolt is when McCain & Co. are up for reelection. If conservatives can’t or worse won’t throw these RINOs out on their duffs after the last few years of betrayal, I don’t see any hope left for our movement.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’s just out of one fire and right into another.

Well, the people have allowed the leadership to be taken over by a bunch of liberals and money grubbers. If conservatives wantt the party back, they will have to do it for themselves and quit waiting for some knight in Republican armor to do it for them.

We did? Wasn’t McCain the GOP nominee for president? Wasn’t Lindsay Graham and numerous other RINOs reelected to Congress?
