Why is it that pretty much every other town that was devastated by Katrina has long since dusted themselves off and moved on, while NOLA continues to have this “woes is me” attitude?

during the cold spell in DC in January/February, Robert Gibbs said that the White House heat was turned way up because Obama liked it that way. Gibbs said “he’s from Hawaii, okay”, as if that makes it ok. Obama’s carbon footprint doesn’t matter because #1 he’s a good Democrat, and #2 he’s from Hawaii, so he’s got a good excuse.
Because? Just because???
After all, “everybody” knows that Bush caused Hurricane Katrina. Even though good Democrat governor and mayor of New Orleans bungled their tasks at that time, an evil Republican president was blamed for it all. So they need to keep the blame game going.
It is sad that Obama is wee weeing on the people of New Orleans now that he’s been elected. He should go there, he should appoint a New Orleans reconstruction Czar. Maybe put Carvelle in charge. All this shows is that Obama isn’t doing the job he was elected to do. Rather than trying to “Transform” the nation into a new France or Soviet Russia he should try to get Americans jobs and rebuild the nation. Sadly, he can’t even get this right.
