Several Michigan football players claim the program regularly violates NCAA rules limiting how much time they can spend on training and practice sessions, according to a published report.
Players from the 2008 and 2009 teams told the Detroit Free Press for a story published on the newspaper's Web site on Saturday that the amount of time they spend on football activities during the season and in the offseason greatly exceeds the limits. The players spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity because they feared repercussions from coaches.

Haha.. Michigan players don’t want to work anymore than they have to. It’s no wonder they haven’t beaten Ohio State in 12,500 years.

Longstanding rivalries notwithstanding, it would be refreshing for athletes to learn some “class”. And take some classes.

Michigan was stupid to pay huge dollars to bring in Rodriquez. He has taken a historically great program, which was still good when he got there, and destroyed it.
U of M traditionally makes stupid decisions about their sports programs. A few years ago they hired an AD who was a total disaster. He wasted the programs’ money and did stupid things like put an ugly aluminum sign on top of Michigan stadium. Get ready for another 3-9 season Wolverine fans.
They practice too much and yet they still suck.

Does anyone doubt that most Big 10 schools do exactly what Michigan is doing?
Actually, I’ve heard several coaches in the two major sports during routine discussions with the media usually during the season talk about their team’s schedule and referencing the mandatory NCAA days off and or practice time restrictions and how they deal with them. I don’t think “most” Big Ten schools cheat they way Michigan apparently has.
I would guess the SEC has more cheating by far than the rest of the conferences combined. The Good O’l. Boy network keeps it buried.

I said “guess”. There are plenty of rumors out there. There is also far too much money at stake for the NCAA to look too closely.
